A cell has two different forms of nucleic acids: RNA and DNA. Nucleotides make up nucleic acids. DNA DNA’s primary location is in the nucleus, where it is a component of the chromatin network.
∙ DNA encircled by proteins known as histones forms the thread-like structures known as chromosomes, which are found inside the nucleus. ∙ A tiny quantity of DNA can be found in the mitochondria of plant and animal cells, as well as the chloroplasts of plant cells, which are located outside the nucleus. ∙ A gene is a brief section of a DNA molecule that codes for a particular hereditary trait.
